In the previous pill we told you how preliminary technical analysis and co-design are the beating heart of our product development business. Especially when it comes to special fasteners, to concretely develop a project, you must have very clear ideas to avoid substantial changes during processing that require high costs and cause delays in the start of production.
Thanks to the possibility of 3D printing products, we simplify the workflow and reduce costs. Each modification of the design can be implemented in a short amount of time before the tooling are manufactured and the machine setted-up for the heading.
By integrating a 3D printing into our process, we evaluate all design flows in advance and check the geometric compliance of the parts on the printed prototypes.
The result is a clear reduction in project finalization times, no need for preliminary tests and therefore a reduction in the impact on the final cost of the product without compromising its quality or final functionality.
Furthermore, the introduction of a 3D printing in our technical office, has allowed flexibility and freedom of design at low costs to be able to meet the needs and proposals of each customer, immediately verifying their functionality or potential critical issues, correcting them quickly and avoiding, therefore, undesirable results.
The example in the video is the prototyping of an 8.8 hammer head screw and the corresponding headed metal product, inserted in the slot of a profile: our rapid prototypes have a consistency equal to that of a metal product and are proof of implementation of our analysis and co-design methodology.
